Today we sit the visionary force being Pink Throne Styles, a trailblazer in the world of plus-size fashion.... Sharonda Grandberry!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey in establishing this business? What

inspired you to start your own business?

I’d like to say I’m a Plus Size Fashion firebrand with a fresh paradigm shift who’s defining

beauty and success on my own terms. I love all things pertaining to full-figured modeling and fashion styling. Following my high school graduation, I left little time for celebration and headed off to basic training only five days later. I was married with three children at a young age and couldn’t identify with who I’d become. In 2014, while sitting at my cubicle, where I was previously employed as a federal employee, I started writing down my goals. At the time, my goals were focused on providing for my family and ensuring I had all my degrees for future career advancements. I never took the time to explore what I really wanted to do with my life. I knew it had to involve fashion and women. I strongly believe in advocating for helping women, particularly mothers, to breathe passion, confidence, and sophistication into their everyday looks and lives. My daughters have always been my inspiration. While surfing through Facebook, I came across a contest called, Full Figure Fierce Face of the Month. I was scared, but I entered the contest anyway. I thought, who knows, it’s worth a try. The rest is history, I won the contest. I was so excited that I contacted the CEO of the contest, Dionne Reeves-Grubbs, almost immediately regarding modeling. I auditioned as a model for the Full Figured Fierce Annual charity fashion show, and I made it! I’ll never forget my first practice session in heels. I was shaking. I still had the “military walk “from there, my fashion career was launched.

Fashion, in my opinion, is art. We are all empty canvases waiting to be painted with the right outfit. I ABSOLUTELY love fashion. My goal is to inspire, motivate, and empower woman through fashion. I create fashion experiences for Full Figured women causing them to love and embrace everything about themselves. My business Pink Throne Styles has been in operation since 2017, legally formulated in 2019.

Can you provide an overview of your business, including the products and services you

offer?

Pink Throne Styles is a full-service image consulting agency. Styling services consisting of

everyday looks, after 5 attire, vacation, special occasions, or an all-out glam experience.

What makes your business unique or differentiates it from others?

I believe my unique and creative looks for full figured woman are my signature but what sets me apart is my ability to connect with those I style, in a sense I’d like to say it’s Fashion Life Coaching.

What does it mean to you personally to be a black entrepreneur in this community?

As quoted by New Orleans artist and activist Brandan “BMike” Odums “I am my ancestor’s

wildest dream!” Personally, I am the little dark-skinned girl that thought she could and did! My confidence was shattered as a child growing up in the south. Being a black entrepreneur in the fashion industry is one achievement that I am proud of. I defied the odds and overcame my fears and decided to just go for it!

How do your personal values align with the mission and vision of your business?

The Crown You Deserve -Elevate Your Style with Pink Throne Styles

Self-confidence must be cultivated. My journey towards gaining confidence has not been an easy one but so rewarding regarding inspiring others and promoting self-love. My continual work is driven by passion to connect women with the wisdom and tools needed to unlock their unlimited potential, love themselves unconditionally, and live their very best lives. "We live in a society where rejection has become the norm. Increasing confidence in women is so important today." My motivation for leading on purpose for women all over the globe to see is based on the United States Army acronym LDRSHIP: loyalty, duty, respect, service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. I am committed to my purpose of empowerment through fashion and style.
