H.O.P.E. is being restored to youth and adults of Calhoun County, thanks to one woman and her team. 5 years ago, Kutrina Price founded the outreach group “H.O.P.E.”, which stands for “Helping One Person Everyday.” The purpose of H.O.P.E is to uplift others through Christ and help them draw closer to God. Every year Price hosts a vision board party in her community with the help of her ever growing team. December 16th will commemorate the inaugural vision board event. A vision board is a collage of pictures and words that represent what one sees or desires for their future. It serves as a roadmap and is to be placed somewhere it can be seen daily. At these parties members of local communities gather to create vision boards while sharing their lives' testimonies in hopes of encouraging others. Kutrina has hosted vision board parties in Edison, Georgia, Arlington, Georgia, and she has assisted with two other vision board parties, one in Fairfax, Virginia and another in Mariana, Florida. Price was first introduced to vision boards by her best friend, Sharonda Grandberry. However, she didn’t make her first board until almost 3 months afterwards. When asked why she started hosting vision boards parties Price said, “I am from a small agriculture based town, there’s not much here. I love to encourage others to dream big and not to settle. When others encounter the mishaps of life, I want to let them know that it’s not the end of the world. I know for a fact that something as small as a vision board can help manifest dreams, with your faith in God of course.” People of all ages and crosswalks of life speak at the parties. There have been rappers, poets,models and more. There are no requirements to speak at her vision board parties, she says that she gravitates towards people that have overcome trials and aren’t afraid to share their story, “I love that every speaker has a unique story crafted by the hands of God.” In the beginning, Price was reluctant to start the vision board parties. She was afraid of what others would think or even if they would listen to her. But after constant prayer and dedication to God, she began to channel her hurt into helping others. Price can regularly be found giving advice to others or even just being a listening ear. “It makes my heart smile to see God's glory through the boards,” says Price.

It gives me great pleasuse to say that I attended H.O.P.E event on December 11,2020. It was my first vision party. From the moment I opened the door to the last word at the end, this event blessed me! I pray God’ s continued blessings upon this team and the vision behind the visionary.
